Best Pools in Houston
You may wonder how our Top 10 List of the Best Pools in Houston was brainstormed. It all happened over a lunch meeting at Canopy, a fabulous Montrose restaurant. A few business associates and I were indulging in delicious meals and researching city trends when I came across a new blog post on Open Travel (www.opentravel.com/blogs) titled World’s Most Boring Cities to Visit.
One Park Place Downtown - An Oasis in the City
This of course, sparked my interest, so I proceeded to click on the page.
- Brussels, Belgium. Ahh, ok. Not knowing too much about the city of Brussels, I scroll down and to my shock I see...
- Houston, Texas
I am not a native Houstonian, but grew up and have spent the better part of my life in Houston. I consider myself well traveled. And I must disagree - Houston is NOT the second most boring city on this planet.
One of the blog author's arguments for this distinction was Houston’s insane heat. Yes! It can be ridiculously hot here, but to make up for the heat, many apartment/condo complexes have put some amazing resort style pools in their communities as a great way for residents to cool off from the sizzling summer heat.
And this is how the brainstorm of the Best Pools in Houston began. How could Houston be boring with so many awesome pools at which to relax, barbecue and throw the occasional pool party? Now onward to the list:
One Park Place (pictured above): This urban paradise in the heart of Downtown is truly spectacular. The two-tiered swimming pool has a cascading waterfall and sweeping views of the city.
