Choose Your Charity
Bamboo Realty is linked with local and global charities, making a charitable contribution for every residential lease or sale. Current charitable organizations we support:
The Adventure Project is a growing non-profit organization with a big vision: "To end extreme poverty by supporting the world’s most effective social ventures." On a quarterly basis they choose one humanitarian issue affecting global poverty, and then present an innovative, low-cost solution to help. Examples of past projects include: Give Coal for Christmas which funded charcoal-efficient stoves to families in Haiti and the Keep It Clean project to repair clean water wells in India. The Global Orphan Project also known as the "GO Project", is a global orphan care organization that mobilizes volunteers and resources to care for orphans and vulnerable children in some of the world's poorest communities. The countries they currently serve in include: Cambodia, Chad, the Ivory Coast, Dominican Republic, and Haiti. For more information about the GO Project, visit www.theglobalorphanproject.org
Frances St. Community Garden The first green-project that Bamboo will help fund is the planting of the Frances St. Garden in Houston's Historic Third Ward. The Frances St. Garden will provide fresh produce to the community, and will cultivate authentic community and hope for the future.
SoupMobile is a mobile soup kitchen serving up food to the homeless in South Dallas. David Timothy, known fondly as the "SoupMan" among the homeless he serves, started the organization in 2003. While his original vision was for a traditional fixed-location food kitchen, he realized that the homeless have limited mobility and opted instead to take his vision on the road. Today SoupMobile serves an average of 600 meals a day. For more information about SoupMobile, visit the website here: www.soupmobile.org
Voices of Survivors is devoted to exploring cancer survivorship and what that means to the individual 'Survivor', whether they are recently diagnosed with cancer, undergoing treatment or are post treatment. The foundation is truly an advocacy forum and gives strength and hope to each individual who finds themselves facing this disease.
